He's a lefthander who won 15 games last year and the Sox aren't likely to get commensurate value given Wells's rehabilitation status and his destination restrictions. Like Manny Ramírez, Wells's only leverage is to sit out, and the betting here is that he'll pitch for Boston before he forgoes $7.5 million."

Oh yes, let's keep the 15 game winner (with the highest run support in major league, just as with D-Lowe the year before). He's a strong lefty (42 years old, coming off of knee surgery). He's anxious to play (for someone else). Oh yes, let's keep David Wells on the team.
