I'm sorry, but this is just sad. Why do the Red Sox feel it's necessary to sue Doug Mientkiewicz for the ball he caught for the final out of the World Series. He let them borrow it to display, and now they're suing for possession of it? They should be worrying about the next World Series, not spending time and money looking back at the last one.
You can read more about the suit at bloomberg.
The Sox also added a little more depth to their bullpen, trading with the Cubs for 25 year old Van Buren. The Cubs were most likely clearing a roster spot. The trade was for cash or a player to be named later. David Borges believes he'll end up in AAA at the beginning of next year.
Jermaine Van Buren had a 1.98 ERA for AAA Iowa last year with 25 saves. He was called up for just six innings at the end of year, where he posted a 3.00 ERA.

I want to know what is wrong with Van Buren. He is young and has done exceptionally well in the minors so far. Why would they give him up for so little?
I don't think anything's wrong with him. The Cubs just don't want to wait on his development when their roster is full. They have enough on their plate with signing Konerko and Thome.
